But Trump’s recent comments about renegotiating the Paris agreement and reforming the UN imply an acceptance of the assumptions on which both are built: that multilateral cooperation is better able to serve the interests and security of the United States. If this is so, then Trump is buying into the flaws of those assumptions that need to be utterly discredited in order to enact meaningful change.
Now let's see if Trump follows thru, like he hasn't since he became president. Of course, if he doesn't, again, his idol worshipers can blame the people Trump hired and who work for him at his pleasure. (He is the most powerful man in the world, isn’t he?) So then he can fire them and hire new people who can then be blamed again for his failure to keep the promises he makes in his great speeches. And if that doesn’t work, his die-hard minions can always scapegoat the “deep state,” or whatever.

If the Associated Press report is accurate, President Trump is going to pull the United States out of the Paris Climate Accords, an economic albatross based on junk science the rest of the world wants to hang around the neck of the United States. According to the U.N.'s top human rights body, Israel is the worst human rights violator in the world today. That’s the result of the latest session of the UN Human Rights Council which wrapped up in Geneva on Friday by adopting five times more resolutions condemning Israel than any other country on earth.

A week and a half ago President Obama gave the order for the U.S. to abstain on UN Security Council Resolution 2334, thereby—effectively—voting in favor and allowing the resolution to pass.
As I noted, the resolution goes beyond “moral equivalency” by obfuscating Palestinian terror and incitement while branding Jewish life beyond the 1949 Armistice Lines a “flagrant violation under international law” and a “major obstacle…to peace.”
But the administration wasn’t through with Israel.
When Barack Obama betrayed Israel at the United Nations, that put a curse on our nation. But that doesn’t mean that we have to stay cursed. In the coming days, the new Trump administration should immediately start taking steps to reverse the curse that we are under as a result of what Obama has done. Perhaps if Donald Trump takes strong enough steps to try to undo what Obama has done, instead of being cursed we can once again return to being blessed.
One thing that Trump will not be able to undo is UN Security Council Resolution 2334. It would take another UN Security Council resolution to undo it, and the votes simply wouldn’t be there. UN Security Council Resolution 2334 passed by a vote of 14 to zero with the U.S. abstaining. And even if Trump could miraculously pull together enough votes, one of the other permanent members of the Security Council (Russia, China, the UK or France) could just veto it.
So it looks like we are stuck with UN Security Council Resolution 2334, but that doesn’t mean that Trump can’t do anything to try to address this matter.
The vicious condemnation of Israel at the UN Security Council on December 23, 2016 is a watershed moment in U.S.-UN relations – albeit not as President Obama hoped. Following the vote of fourteen in favor and one American abstention, Palestinian representative Riyadh Mansour and American Ambassador Samantha Power exchanged a telling handshake. Evidently, President Obama believes that he has put one over on Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the incoming Trump administration. But here’s another possibility: treachery at the UN will not be cost-free.
Let’s be absolutely clear about what has just happened. The Palestinians have completed the hijacking of every major UN institution. The 2016 General Assembly has adopted nineteen resolutions condemning Israel and nine critical of all other UN states combined. The 2016 Commission on the Status of Women adopted one resolution condemning Israel and zero on any other state. The 2016 UN Human Rights Council celebrated ten years of adopting more resolutions and decisions condemning Israel than any other place on earth. And now – to the applause of the assembled – the Palestinians can add the UN Security Council to their list.
The recent Security Council vote barring Israel from building new “settlements” brought to the fore the malevolent machinations of the OIC-dominated United Nations.
The entire process was cynical and manipulative on the part of Barack Obama, John Kerry, Joe Biden, and other anti-Israel officials in the United States government. They engineered the resolution, pressured Security Council members to vote for it, and then abstained from voting. All the other members voted in favor of it — including the UK and Russia, mind you — so the resolution passed unanimously.
This malicious parting shot by President Obama may eventually have the salutary effect of causing the USA to withdraw from the UN, or at least to defund it. I doubt that was the president’s intention, but it looks like the new Republican Congress — soon to be working under the leadership of President Donald Trump — could be moving in that direction.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is escalating his attack against President Barack Obama, accusing him of engineering a “shameful ambush” at the United Nations by allowing a hostile Security Council resolution to pass.
During a weekly Israeli meeting Sunday, Netanyahu told his cabinet ministers that, far from being a bystander, Obama was the critical force behind Friday’s resolution.
“From the information that we have, we have no doubt that the Obama administration initiated it, stood behind it, coordinated on the wording and demanded that it be passed,” Netanyahu said. The claim puts Netanyahu directly at odds with the Obama administration, which argued Friday it was absurd to assign it responsibility for the resolution.
President Obama’s refusal to veto the sickening UN Security Council resolution against Israel yesterday was an act of pure malice.
The resolution, demanding an immediate halt to all Israeli “settlement” construction, was proposed by New Zealand, Malaysia, Venezuela and Senegal after its original sponsor, Egypt, had withdrawn. No one can be in any doubt, though, that the resolution’s real sponsor was Obama, acting behind the backs of the US Congress and the American people.

Ambassador Samantha Power, who represents the United States at the UN Security Council, sat mum on Friday when the chair called for votes against an anti-Israel resolution declaring Israeli settlements illegal. But she raised her hand high when the chair called for abstentions.
She, and her boss, President Barack Obama, could have voted no, in keeping with precedent, and in deference to the incoming administration of President-elect Donald J. Trump. Instead, they let the resolution pass.
In anticipation of Obama’s suspected — now confirmed — abstention, members of Congress threatened to de-fund the UN. The U.S. accounts for some 22% of the UN’s budget, supporting a large, comfortable bureaucracy and its various programs.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) issued a statement, warning:
U.S. companies are in for a shock as President Obama takes aim once again at Israel in the final month of his presidency. In the coming days, he is expected to direct his team at the United Nations to vote for U.S. funding of "BDS," the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign aimed at financially ruining Israel and smearing the companies with which it does business.
